Thank you for this motivating post. I have read the book “Grit” as well and I think that we tend to see success as something magical that just seems to happen to the lucky ones.

This is actually an attempt to protect ourselves from the fact that everyone has the same 24 hours a day. But successful people have the same problems and struggle just like anyone else. Most people are unwilling to invest more time and effort into pursuing their dreams and, therefore, use excuses to justify their lack of commitment.

Another misconception is that success will lead to happiness but actually it is happiness that leads to success. As odd as it sounds, happiness starts with facing difficulties and setbacks. The actual process of overcoming these and turning them into opportunities is what brings more joy and excitement in life.
