Following your logic there is a whole list of things you should do first to insure your safety…

I appreciate your response.

Let me clear something up.

It’s not Muslims i think we should be worried about per se. Muslims are the first victims of terror, and suffer the most because of terrorist attacks.

Yes, it’s unfortunate that Islamic terrorists are also Muslim. That’s an undeniable fact. Obviously.

But I don’t think of it as muslims, for some reason. I think all of us, and Muslims too, hopefully, as being aware of terrorists, and the potential for attacks.

We all have to be aware of terrorist attacks. That is our new reality. To deny this, isn’t smart.

I want us all to be on board.

You know the last time we flew.. My daughter and I were singled out for extra security check. I was concerned because my daughter was 14 at the time, and I didn’t want a man to “inspect” her. But a female security officer stepped up and it was fine.

I wasn’t angry. I was glad. I was more than happy to oblige them.

Why? Because I care about us all. I want all of us to be safe. I think this should be the first priority of anyone who cares about the human race as a whole.

Its not irrational.

The reason why we haven’t had as many terrorist attacks as other countries is because of the measures we have taken. There is a rumor that no terrorist attacks have been stopped since 9/11 in America. Just in Boston , where I live , last year 5 potential terrorists were stopped before they carried out their planned attacks.

One case the family threw a big fit. Press conferences saying that their son was a good boy and this was just prejudice and all of that sort of thing.

The news filmed the entire family going into the police station to review the evidence.

No one heard from them further.

We need these measures to ensure our safety.

Everyone needs to participate and help.

It’s really not a personal thing. Against Muslims. But I think that any self aware Muslim , should really understand why we have to be cautious and why we have been put / forced into this position to be extra aware of them..

No one wanted Islam to do this. No one asked for it. No one wants to be afraid or be hated for being alive. And being different.

It would be nice if Muslims could channel their anger at … who really? Islam? The Muslims who are violent ? The teaching of their prophet? They wouldn’t be Muslim at that point , although I’m aware of a few Islamic activists that are trying to revolutionize Islam and modernize it, and want to separate from Sharia law , for example .

I just don’t think that is ever going to work. How can you disconnect sharia from Islam when it is Islam? There is no Islam without sharia. The two are the same.

I don’t know. Honestly if I were Muslim , I would seriously study the Koran and Hadith and figure out if this is what I believe in. I think Islam has become more of a culture than a religion to a lot of Arabic people and it shouldn’t be.

I would renounce Islam instead of try to defend things I don’t believe in. Or try to modernize it when the punishment for that, according to Mohammed is death. It’s like how much can you go against your own prophet and still claim to be Muslim? I’m not sure. But it’s precisely this religion being or turning into a cultural thing that is making it more and more difficult to maintain an open and respectful conversation about this stuff.

Its only become a cultural thing because it’s enforced by law in Islamic countries and everything that goes against Islamic teaching is banned. Books, movies, commercials you name it. Like a communist country Islam is maintained , to the point that the Arabic nomadic culture has evolved into Islamic culture.

I am part Arabic, and my dad, who isn’t Arabic always taught me to be proud of my nomadic gypsy blood. Nothing about Islam. But always he taught me about the old tribal ways. Or at least what he thought was true Arabic blood, and ways. He used to visit the Middle East often during my childhood.

My trips there were not as impressive… it was a very threatening world for me as a young girl. And dirty. I also had to be aware of things I never had to be aware of before… things that made me prey. Instead of a human being.

I’m getting off track.

I guess I’m sad that the Arabic culture has been dominated by Islam too.

They lost themselves to a zealously, that has completely ruined them, or attempted to. They took the beauty and tradition and twisted it into something very scary.

I guess my main point was that it’s a human thing and I wish it wasn’t or didn’t have to spotlight Muslims the way that it does. But we have to, to be safe. There is just no other way.
