Beautifully written, elegantly articulated. I work at 6th / market, live in the upper Castro and play all over the city — in an attempt to allow the process to simply be, I am regularly overwhelmed. A friend of mine that is no stranger to the dark side, the weird side, visited me in the ‘Loin at work … he spends his day with inner city south side kids in Tucson — he said: “ I’ve never seen so many mentally ill people in such a small place.”
