1. Cult Screens — Caversham Court Gardens

Thursday 27 July to Saturday 29 July at Caversham Court Gardens from 7.30pm. Tickets start at £13.95.
Come and enjoy both modern day hits and classic films in the open air this week as Cult Screens returns to Reading.
Hosted at the stunning Caversham Court Gardens, book yourself a beanbag, deck chair or bring a blanket and watch Top Gun, Rogue One or Moulin Rouge. In addition to the films there will also be street food and drinks available to enjoy during the screening.
2. Holdin’ Court: Heavy Links + Support — Readipop

Friday 28 July at Readipop Studios from 7pm. Tickets are £5 in advance.
Heavy Links are coming to Reading this July for the second of two tour dates with Holdin' Court to promote their debut album Step Up To Get Your Rep Up.
In 2012 Heavy Links dropped their first record, The Essence. It featured Chrome, Sonnyjim, DPF, Cappo and Efeks. Only 100 were pressed and they sold them for just £6..they have since gone for up to £50.
3. The Scarlet Vixens: Teasing the Turtle Red — The Purple Turtle

The Scarlet Vixens are back at the Turtle for their monthly shimmying shindig! This 5* reviewed troupe will dazzle you with their creative and diverse style of burlesque.

4. Beer Friday — South Street Arts Centre

Friday 28 July at South Street Arts Centre from 5pm. Free!
A very special night of Craft Beer, live performance and the very best DJ’s from indie club night Darklands.
Starting straight after work with a special menu of craft beer selected by Reading’s brilliant The Grumpy Goat, Ale & Cheese shop (Harris Arcade) the evening will include an exclusive live performance from Here Are The Young Men with a set of unique covers, before seguing perfectly into South Street’s monthly indie club night presented by Darklands.
5. Club Velocity — Rising Sun Arts Centre

Finally, kick start your weekend with a healthy dose of great live music courtesy of Club Velocity at The Rising Sun Arts Centre.
On the line-up are Draw the Shades — a four piece rock band from Reading, UK with distorted riffs, heavy anthems and soaring vocals. Also on the bill are pop-rockers — Wolfs — and new kids on the block, Roves.
