How to hold a meeting in virtual reality

Hold a meeting in VR with unlimited attendees with AltspaceVR. Team members can join from all major headsets: Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, Google Daydream or in Game-mode on PC or Mac. Hosts

If you are the host, here’s how you set up your meeting and send out a meeting link to all attendees.

Step One: Get AltspaceVR

Before putting on your headset, download AltspaceVR and set up your account: Samsung Gear VR or Google Daydream, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, PC, Mac.

You should now have a username and password.

Step Two: Create event

This event will be your meeting. Click this link to set up your event. Make sure to log in before creating your event. Chose the title of your event and set the start and end time.

Step Three: Share your meeting

You’ll be taken to your meeting page. Copy the link or click “share” to get your meeting (“event”) link. Share that link via text, Slack, Messenger, Skype or any other messaging service.

Here’s an example message you should send to your attendees ahead of time to get them set up for your meeting:

Hello there,

Before putting on your headset follow the below instructions to get AltspaceVR for your VR equipment or computer:

1. Samsung Gear VR

- Find “AltspaceVR” in Oculus Home and download it to your phone

- Download the AltspaceVR app from the Google Play store

- When prompted, set up an account

2. Google Daydream

- Download AltspaceVR to your phone

- When prompted, set up an account

3. Oculus Rift

- Create account

- Download AltspaceVR for Oculus Rift

4. HTC Vive

- Create account

- Download AltspaceVR for HTC Vive

5. 2D mode on PC

- Create account

- Download AltspaceVR for PC

6. 2D mode on Mac

- Create account

- Download AltspaceVR for Mac

Once you’re all set up, click the link below to join the meeting at [insert date and time]. Click ‘Enter’.

Insert a pair of headphones + mic and I’ll meet you in there.
