“The earth is full of Your lovingkindness. ADONAI — teach me Your decrees.” — Psalm 119:64 TLV

I love school! I loved the discussions, the projects, and even the lectures. I remember every August wanting school to start up again. The older I got the more arrogant I got with my knowledge. I would answer all the questions, and even at times try and correct the teacher. Then something started to happen. The teacher stopped calling on me. The other students in the class were visibly upset that I always knew the answer. So I stopped. I stopped raising my hand. I stopped putting in my two cents. I thought to myself, “Why bother. No one likes a smartalic.”

As time passed, I changed my approach in class. I no longer acted like the know-it-all. Instead I was the one that didn’t know the answer. I would ask questions to clarify. I would add to the discussion instead of trying to end it. I became apart of the class instead of trying to run it. And this is what I found out. The teachers loved teaching someone that wanted to learn as opposed to someone that knew all the answers. The other students in the class appreciated my input to the discussion instead of me trying to own it. As a result, I learned more! This new way got me more out of classes than the I-already-know-the-answer way.

As a student of God, I approach the Bible the same way. I want to learn more. Even if I know the answer, I try to look at it from a different angle or perspective. I am ALWAYS learning about God. The more I learn the more knowledge I gain. As a Christian, this is the approach that God wants you to take. Let Him be God, and we can just be His students. The one that learns gains. The one that already knows everything stays the same. Today open up the Word, listen to the preaching, and gain more knowledge. Be a student about the one that created you!

Be blessed and know that you are loved by YeHoVaH through Messiah Yeshua and the Ruach ha-Kodesh lives within you.

I am loved by the Creator of the World! I laugh, cry, sing, and shout. "Jesus loves me this I know because the Bible tells me so." You are loved.
