This pertains especially to products and companies with legacy systems that were delineated by functionally, and not journey maps. Greenfield products that are without existing constraints, in product or organization, can practice more holistically. A strong product designer like the one described earlier would be the right one for such a fresh product. In addition to the technical skill set, that person needs the soft skills to bring others into product design and advocate.
