Hi digital void! It’s been a while since I posted about AS. I’m working on catching up with this art challenge. I went on a cruise and that had a serious domino effect on school, work, and sadly, Alphabet Superset. As discouraging as it is to slip backward in every aspect, it was totally worth it for the 1 week of genuine vacation time. I worked 3 jobs during my summer break so I kind of missed out. But that’s all besides the point! Today I’m dropping the last 3 weeks of missed content: D, E, and F.

The dasypeltis—otherwise known as the Egg-Eating Snake—is a snake I would thoroughly enjoy having as a pet in the future. This animal has evolved to live off of eating eggs. This evolution has resulted in one crucial change; that being, they have no fangs. No teeth at all. Fangs get in the way when you’re trying to shove a whole quail egg into your gullet, so naturally, the hunting/defense mechanism was scrapped. This also means that the Dasypeltis is defenseless; albeit for its one ability to mimic the sound of the soft-scaled viper. That’s it! They’re docile, don’t require live or dead food, and couldn’t bite even if they wanted to.

The icon for the dasypeltis took a lot of re-working and rule modification. Its body is made from two tear-drop shapes that were mirrored, flip, and lined up with one another just-so. And you’ll see later with F that as my animals get more specific, so does the iconography. This is definitely getting more and more challenging with each animal. They all have their own set of requirements that are very hard to replicate with this limited shape selection. Still, it’s been pretty fun.
