Motivational Movies That You Must Watch
by Amanda Johnson, Employee Motivation Consultant for ClickHelp.com — professional technical writing tool
I’m sure that everybody has a list of movies that you want to watch, and I’m not an exception. I have a great list in my bullet journal. And this is a problem — you will never watch all these movies because the list is so big that demotivates you. When you have free time for watching a movie, you just open the list, stare at it, close it and open Netflix to watch your favorite series. That’s why I write this post that contains a short list, so you’ll definitely find a film that will suit you.
If you’ve watched some films from this list, rewatch them, please, because they are so great and noteworthy. I took descriptions of their plots from IMDb because I like the way they write — laconic and clear without spoilers. Moreover, I don’t include trailers in this article because you can find them by yourself. Instead, I will show you some scenes that will depict the greatness of these films.
The Pianist
Plot: The Pianist is a 2002 drama film. It is based on the autobiographical book The Pianist, a Holocaust memoir by the Polish-Jewish pianist and composer Władysław Szpilman, a Holocaust survivor himself.
When you see what people went through, you start to realize that your problems are totally nothing.
When Władysław Szpilman was hiding in a derelict building, he suddenly met a Nazi. He realized that Szpilman was a pianist and asked him to play something. Watch this fragment to see how powerful the music is.
By the way, Adrien Brody plays himself, so this film is really great.
Catch Me If You Can
Plot: A seasoned FBI agent pursues Frank Abagnale Jr. who, before his 19th birthday, successfully forged millions of dollars’ worth of checks while posing as a Pan Am pilot, a doctor, and a legal prosecutor.
Frank was a freshman at school and, of course, a bad guy from this school started bullying him. The main character didn’t make panic:
Frank Abagnale Jr. is a spectacular example how you should behave in an unknown situation — do not be shy, just act self confidently.
Les miserables
Plot: In 19th-century France, Jean Valjean, who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert after breaking parole, agrees to care for a factory worker’s daughter. The decision changes their lives forever.
The film is like an opera, that is really unusual. Listen to this song:
It inspires me not to give up and fight to the end as these brave people did.
If you hate your cozy office while drinking coffee from Starbucks, watch how hard people worked in the past. However, this is just a film, and working conditions were even worse:
Amélie
Plot: Amélie is an innocent and naive girl in Paris with her own sense of justice. She decides to help those around her and, along the way, discovers love.
Amélie helps people in an unusual way, she creates interesting situations, for example, watch the scene about the hidden box:
And the continuation:
This film also inspired me to make something unusual at that period of my life. Maybe, it will help you get a dazzling idea.
Saving Private Ryan
Plot: Following the Normandy Landings, a group of U.S. soldiers go behind enemy lines to retrieve a paratrooper whose brothers have been killed in action.
This film depicts the horrors of the war from the very beginning without any censorship.
I think that this movie should teach us that a war is meaningless and we should treat each other kindly and with respect.
Have you seen these films before? What film do you recommend to get motivated?
