The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven emirates, which united on December 2, 1971. They are Abu Dhabi (the capital), Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Qaiwain.

The UAE is an Arab country, a state member of the League of Arab States and also a member of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), which includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The Religion in UAE is Islam it’s the basis of the UAE’s culture, political system and way of life. It is also multi-cultural and tolerant towards other religions. For example, they over 200 different nationalities residing in the UAE which making it one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world but everyone is free to practice their own religion. The tradition language on UAE is Arabic it’s the official language and English is widely used.

Also, Emirati clothing is an important part of the history and heritage of the UAE and is a source of pride. In UAE Men wearing a white dress called kandora and on their heads they wear gahfia and gutra. Women cover their hair and whole body so they wearing Shaila and abaya.

There are a lot of famous food in UAE such as, harees, machbos and luqemat. Many Emiratis prefer the traditional style of eating with the right hand. There are strict Muslim taboos against pork and alcohol, and meat must be slaughtered according to the Islamic halal method. Also, the guests are welcomed with coffee and fresh dates.

Government in UAE create various cultural events and organized by bodies such as the Emirates Heritage Club, which runs dhow races, longboat races, camel races, and a host of other activities that encourage an interest in the UAE’s heritage and culture. Festivals such as the Qasr al Hosn Festival in Abu Dhabi, TCA Handicrafts Festival in Al Ain, Liwa Date Festival, and Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition also preserve and promote traditional culture by theoretically and practically.
