Why Women Smile at Men Who Sexually Harass Us
Hanna Brooks Olsen

I shouldn’t comment before reading through the whole way, but this is the one that gets me. The men who inevitably say, “I’d love to be cat called or ogled. It’s a cmpliment.” The complete failure to acknowledge the violation and implicit threat in the “compliments”. When I hear, “Women are too uptight” I just wish that for a second men could truly feel the weight of assumption that we are here not just be admired, but commented on and, sometimes, touched without invitaiton.
