Question the stereotypes

We got rightly upset when the ultra thin models of the 90’s gave young girls an unrealistic expectation of body size and shape. In fact things have changed so much recently that catwalk models must now have a healthy BMI and be checked by a doctor before working. When will we develop the same reaction toward the unrealistic body expectations being thrust upon young trans and gender questioning boys?

When will Munroe Bergdorf, Alicia Pieta and other trans instagram celebrities stop being held up as icons of 'transwomanhood' and be seen for what they are? Which is, in part at least, an unattainable body standard for any young person, especially a young boy.

Trans ideology switches its rationale every other day to support its belief that a man can be a woman. I personally seek a healthier and more complete and complex definition of man (and woman). One which allows for and embraces difference rather than promoting stereotypes.

Men no longer need to fit the old paradigm of stoic and tough loner and women no longer need to fit the stereotypes of flouncy, caring, home maker or sexy temptress. Why then do many trans people stick so dearly to those looks?

Cosmetic surgery can be a great help for those born with a cleft pallette or other disfigurement but beyond necessary procedures which alleviate real suffering most 'feminising' surgery 'promoted by Bergdorf et al is unnecessary and unrealistic.
Being a man and wanting to look and feel like a beautiful woman is not wrong, it is simply a stage of development that men have been working with and through for millennia. The modern ability to surgically add or remove wanted or unwanted body parts does not change anything.

Munroe is not a woman. He is a Man. He has XY chromosomes, plastic breasts, a reshaped forehead and nose, long hair and make up and a wardrobe full of 'women’s clothes. He looks like a stereotypical 'beautiful woman’. All of which is absolutely fine with me but let’s stop with the lying to our impressionable youth.
An unrealistic and stereotypical body image is as unhealthy and damaging for young men as it is for young women.

A Man in a Skirt is a man in a skirt. Campaining for something better than feminism's 3rd riech and transmania's mimicry of the binary. @ amaninaskirt.com
