That is way understated! North Vietnam was the most heavily defended place on Earth (I am talking Surface to Air) with all the SAM the USSR had to offer, plus countless AAA. You just can’t say the Air Force and the Navy (and the Marines) had air superiority in Vietnam, just look at how many planes and choppers were downed!
