Getting Together on 9/9
Sep 4, 2018 · 2 min read
In many ways, this whole idea is about building bridges. Bridges to connect, to bring us together, and to help us move from intention to action. And so on Sunday, 9/9, people around the world will gather at the nearest bridge to stand for the values that bind us.
To start, please click on this map. If someone has already set up a meeting point where you are, please respond to them. If not, zoom in to find a local bridge (or a square or a park if there’s no bridge nearby), and add a pin and a comment saying at what time you will be there.
To invite more people to your meetup, we recommend that your create a Facebook event so that people can connect and RSVP.
To do this:
- Click on events on your Facebook page. (You can just click here to get there directly.)
- Click on Create Event
- Select Public Event — otherwise people won’t be able to find it.
- Event Host: you
- Event photo/image: a photo of the place where you are meeting would be great.
- Event name: “Idealist meetup at…”
- Location: the place where you are meeting
- Frequency: Occurs once
- Date and time: 9/9, at whatever hour works best for you
- Details: see this example
- Posting: anyone can post (the top option there).
- Display guest list: we recommend to leave this on.
- Click “Create” to make your event go live.
- If you have friends in your area who may also be interested, click on “Share,” and then from the drop down menu, “Invite Friends.”
Thank you!
