The reason why I kept above picture as my introducing picture is that , I am not talking to the people who are present with me in this era but the ones who do not even exist today..

I want to make a historical comment over this period where I and my dear existing beings are eye-witnesses.

This story begins with my point of view-

Being a college student , away from family and enjoying hostel life which also included our daily interactions over spiced-up topics regarding the news we get from our dear friend inshorts (our kind of newspaper). One news came out which suddenly changed our entire life , which was-

The probable bat-to-human infection have been started among people.

This news which came in December, 2019 didn’t cause any fear within us because it took place in China and don’t get offended but for the time being we thought that it would be short-lived virus and will vanish within days so none of the concerns were shown by any of us so we just ignored it.

So I would like to put light on the words said by Stevie Nicks -

A wound gets worse when it’s treated with neglect.

So , it reached our country on January 30, 2020 when the first case of COVID-19 (as named by WHO) was confirmed in a student who had returned home(Kerala) for a vacation from Wuhan University in China.

Then , it made a chains of infected people , and soon from an epidemic , it was declared as a pandemic disease which spreads from an infected person to the healthy one through minute droplets from nose or mouth when one coughs or exhales , these droplets land on the objects and surfaces around the person.

Clearly , we as students got scared from such an unknown entity which may attack us anywhere anytime. In mid of March , a mail was sent by College Registrar which stated that we have to leave for our homes by next day . Well this was the very beginning of the trouble reaching towards us. Although these were summer vacations of 2 months but a preventive measure in disguise but it was far beyond our imagination that this virus would spread at such an exponential rate that today I am sharing my experience at my home.

With several active cases and deaths from March till date, be it America , Europe , Eastern Mediterranean , South-East Asia , Africa , Western Pacific , everyone of us has been captured by a virus which has led to economic crisis. I would like to explain the situation by the following picture-

Also with the ongoing pandemic situation , India has faced many other problems like :

Complete lockdown as a preventive measure against the virus , from March 22 , 2020 till June 1, 2020 which led to unemployment , food crisis and also struggle faced by poor families.

Alerts of Locust attacks on April 11, 2020 , in some areas of Rajasthan , Madhya Pradesh , Uttar Pradesh.

Hit by cyclones: first on Eastern coast by Cyclone Amphan on May 16, 2020 and within less than two weeks another hit on Western coast by Cyclone Nisarga.

Minor and claimed-to-be-almost major earthquakes in various states.

With all these problems created either naturally or manually , still the list goes on and has reached upto conflicts with neighbouring countries.

The 2020 China–India skirmishes are part of an ongoing military standoff between China and India. Since 5 May 2020, Chinese and Indian troops have reportedly engaged in aggressive actions, face-offs and skirmishes.

Rumors have been spread that India could face military pressure from China, Pakistan or even Nepal if border tensions escalate.

We still have the courage to stand infront of ongoing tragedies because we believe in God. We know that now that we have paid for our mistake of ignorance towards others , we will soon walk up to the crest from the current trough we are stuck in.

Most of you would think that why am I even calling it a mistake of ours to neglect the crisis which originated in China. I would like to justify my words by putting stress on the word “help”. If we could have given them a helping hand though we didn’t know much about the virus at that time , also many claimed that they have started a Bio-War in disguise, but we could’ve supported them in healing process. I am sure the virus would have taken break from spreading and reaching to us , also even if the rumors were true , if they would’ve seen us helping them instead of using a weapon against weapon, maybe they would’ve have stopped this spread by an antidote. Not only Indians but if other countries would’ve thought like this , the scenario which we have landed into wouldn’t have taken place..

Sorry to say but we have failed ourselves as humans and proven that inspite of having an exceptionally featured brain , “we are mere creatures”.

I apologize to the further generations and would try to say one last thing:

only light can vanish darkness

Even if you have seen or faced more than enough problems in your life , just be sure of the fact that someone is observing us non-stop that how we tackle with the problems so don’t give up because after every fall , a beautiful spring will be ahead of you..
