3,500-Year-Old Tomb with Remains of 17 Elites and Precious Artifacts Found in Cyprus

Archaeologists have discovered a tomb with remains of 17 people who were evidently very important in Cyprus about 3,500 years ago and were buried with gorgeous grave offerings over several generations. Items from several regions around the Mediterranean were buried with them, including gold jewelry, pearls, scarabs and decorated ceramic pots. The team’s excavations reveal a fascinating town with a rich history of industry, fine artifacts and tragedy.
