A Discovery That Shook the Archaeological World: Sir Arthur Evans and the Unveiling of Knossos

The location of the mythical Labyrinth of Minas on Crete is still not known for certain but the intricate palace complex at Knossos is a good contender. It was discovered by Sir Arthur Evans and with it he uncovered previously unknown Minoan culture. Passion, insight and innovation allowed Evans to reveal the complex and with it evidence of the society, but the early explorer and amateur archaeologist perhaps didn’t get it all right.
