Tantalus’ struggle

Is one of my own

Forever reaching for something

Never to have a home.

My mind growls with desire

My lips quiver with thirst

In a world down below

Suffering the worst.

Danaus’ daughters

Held a similar fate

Incessant penance paid

Their hearts filled with hate.

The styx river’s water

Will never be enough

The Greek Gods of legends

Calling the mortal’s bluffs.

My memory full of blunders

My heart always in despair,

Always the human and his ego,

Always an inseparable pair!
