Salisbury Cathedral’s windows

In 1990, Salisbury Cathedral needed to raise £29,000 to replace all of the glass in their 400 foot tower. To do so, people were given the chance, at £3 a go, to write dedications to be etched into the replacement glass they had funded.

An appeal went out to all the local dentists to donate their old drills so as to do the etching.

They raised all the money.

To see the etchings, you’ll need to take the mammoth tower tower.

To appreciate Salisbury Cathedral without going, watch this.
