Here’s to 2016.
2016 is set to be a year of extreme growth for me. Everything seems to be lining up in such a way that I know it will be one of the most successful years of my life.
Personal life:
First and foremost it appears I will be getting married in 2016. That in and of itself is enough of a reason to look forward to the year and mark it as a truly special one in my life. There are many other goals for myself that I wish to reach in this most special of years.
I want to own a home, I believe this is a goal completely reasonable to achieve. Though it will not likely be my forever home, it can be a great investment with a little help from good friend John David Ellis.
I plan on having at least 20k in savings, 20k in investments, and 20k in my checking account by the end of the year. This will take some doing. I have been blessed enough to have the means to set this goal, however my (and Brittany’s) spending habits will create a real challenge here. We have set a budget for ourselves and outside of that budget all remaining funds will go to savings one way or another. We are saving for emergency funds, long term goals, investing, and to reward ourselves with some travel.
I WILL lose 50lbs (at least) this year. So for the last few years I have gained weight… Well okay, about 5 years ago I gained 50lbs in under a year and since then it has just stayed there. I’m not still gaining, but I am tired of it. So time to put that gym membership to Anytime Fitness to good use. If anyone wants to join me, please let me know. I can bring a friend with me for free. Also let’s go bike riding, I’m down any time.
Business life:
I have learned so much over the past year and can not wait to start implementing it in 2016. I plan on being more aggressive, focused, and strategic in each action I take and all opportunities.
I also have an extreme interest in beginning to learn about investing in other businesses and helping them grow.
All in all I believe this will be an amazing year. I hope you all will join me, we are in for an amazing adventure.
P.S. I know my writing is horrible to read at the moment. It is a skill I haven’t practiced in almost ten years and it is time to get back to it. Hopefully I will not cause your eyes to bleed too much.
