Technology advances since the Industrial Revolution
It’s crazy to think where we would be in this day and age if we never entered the age of the Industrial Revolution. It is crazy how connected we are with the world in this day and age. We have access, at our fingertips, to know what is going on across the globe. I like how you bring up the concept of what life would be like if we didn’t have this entire media atmosphere around us. We look at the past and express how we could never live in a time with so little media, but look to the future. In the future, people are going to be saying the same thing about us. How could we live without flying cars, robots, or the IPhone 50? Technology is a tricky thing. How much of it absorbs our daily routines? Do we recognize what neurological damage it is doing to us? How cautious are we to make sure it doesn’t affect our social lives? My thoughts are that there won’t be a social face-to-face aspect in the future. How resistant are we going to be to the growth of technology? Are we going to allow it to take over our lives? These are questions that I struggle with when I read your post. Although I question the over use of technology or the growth, I am a major technology user. It excites me to see where technology is going!
