Expect Periods of Rain and Storms Through Tomorrow Night; Much Cooler Next Week

Wet Day Ahead: We are already seeing some light to moderate showers developing across parts of the state this morning. Those showers will continue to drift off to the east. The cold front that will be responsible for bringing the rain and storms to Alabama later this afternoon is stalled out just west of Memphis, Tennessee this morning. I expect a high coverage of rain and storms later this afternoon and tonight as the front approaches.

I note SPC has made no change to their convective outlook for today. They continue to have much of North and West Alabama in a “marginal” risk as some strong storms could produce some gusty winds. However, the overall severe weather threat will remain low.

Tomorrow: Rain and storms will be likely throughout the day. Good news is we will be in a more stable airmass as cooler air digs in from the north meaning we won’t have a high number of storms. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 60s.

Alabama-LSU Game: Everyone will have their eyes set on Tuscaloosa tomorrow night for the big showdown between these two teams. Looks like most of the rain should begin to taper off before kickoff, but some periods of light rain will be likely during the game. It won’t rain continuous and it won’t be a washout.

Have a great day and God bless!
