Street Journal 027: Progress
Progress often feels slow. Progress often feels strange. I started shooting on film in the summer of 2016, and my process, subject matter, and eye have all changed significantly. I dug into the archive to grab a few images from my first roll of color and first roll of BW. My photography has changed in terms of my subject matter, technical skill, and framing. But it hasn’t been a quick change, it has taken two years (and more to come) and it has felt strange. Shifting subject matter, from more still life, travel style photography to a more street photography style (in the traditional sense) has taken time. I honestly don’t find these photos interesting or really that good, but wanted to share and encourage you to continue to progress, make the work you are interested in, and grow as an artist.
