The recent launch of “Threads” got me thinking, not about its social media aspect, but rather the name itself: “Threads.”

Instantly, my mind filled with images of vibrant threads, interwoven in a tapestry of colours, forming intricate patterns and layers of knots.

It was as if I was surrounded by a web of existing threads, and I couldn’t resist the urge to untangle them in my head.

But try as I might, the knots remained stubbornly entwined, defying my attempts to simplify their complexity.

This experience left me pondering the nature of threads, the significance of knots, and my innate desire to untangle them.

Could it be an instinctual longing to simplify the complexities of life?

In a world that often values simplistic interpretations, was I unintentionally overlooking the profound beauty found within complexity itself?

Our lives are richly intricate, and instead of embracing and understanding this complex tapestry, we often confine ourselves to limited perspectives.

We yearn for convenient answers and effortless solutions.

To add, amidst the constant clamour of positivity and happiness rhetoric, I also question whether “punching the air” or uttering “be happy” or “simplify” can create lasting positivity and true happiness.

The reality of all of this is far more nuanced.

In truth, such statements merely reflect our intentions and desires.

Without sustained personal effort and genuine commitment, they remain mere noise.

Ironically, we often seek refuge in the sanctuary of noise, drowning out the silence necessary for deep self-reflection.

In doing so, we inadvertently blind ourselves to the breathtaking multifaceted beauty of human existence.

A remarkable simplicity lies within the complexity — the simplicity of being human.

As humans, it’s given that we naturally aspire towards positivity. Still, we must also acknowledge that negativity is an inherent part of our experience.

We strive for infallibility, yet we inevitably stumble and make mistakes.

We relentlessly pursue happiness, yet we often learn life’s most profound lessons through moments of sadness and adversity.

We yearn for unbridled joy, yet the depths of grief and sorrow can also genuinely transform us.

We need not confine ourselves to a single identity or emotion.

We don’t have to be just one thing all the time.

We are not a single thread — we are threads. Plural.

We are an exquisite tapestry of contradictions.

By accepting and embracing our multifaceted nature, we can find solace.

Appreciating the lessons from the full range of our experiences can lead us to some authentic change.

That’s natural growth.

That’s being human, no?
