The first-ever Anichess tournament will feature a battle between the Anichess and the Mocaverse community. Do you have what it takes to outsmart your opponents and make the right moves? This is your chance to prove it! Whether you’re a seasoned chess player or a beginner, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun.
1. Registration
- Follow @AnichessGame and @MocaverseNFT Twitter accounts and join the Anichess Discord.
- Registration begins on 15th July, 09:00 EDT/14:00 BST/21:00 HKT, registration form for Anichess community will be announced via Anichess Twitter and Discord.
- There will be separate registration forms for the Anichess and Mocaverse community respectively. Forms will be available in the respective socials.
- Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- After the registration period, the confirmed list of participants, team formations, and the tournament schedule will be announced on Anichess Discord.
2. Date & Time
The tournament will take place from 20 — 25 July. Exact match times will be announced after the registration period ends and teams are formed.
3. Match Format
- Each team will appoint two representatives to compete in each match.
- Matches will be played in Hand and Brain format — one player decides WHICH chess piece to move and the other player decides WHERE to move it.
- Each team will have a 10 minute timer with 3 second increments; a team loses when time runs out.
- Matches will take place on Chess.com and streamed live on Anichess Discord to invite participation from the wider community and allow teams to support one another.
4. Prize
- Champion: 50 USDT + 10 Elixir Points (XP) for each team member
- 1st Runner-up: 30 USDT + 8 Elixir Points (XP) for each team member
- 2nd Runner-up: 20 USDT + 5 Elixir Points (XP) for each team member
- Participating teams: 3 Elixir Points (XP) for each team member

5. Tournament Rules
- The winning team advances to the next round. In case of a tie, we will arrange a re-match with 5 minute intervals, no increment.
- Each team member can only participate in one match — so strategize carefully!
- At least 4 team members must be present at each match, otherwise, the team is considered to have lost and the opposing team will advance to the next round.
- If the participant assigned to compete is absent on the day of the competition, he/she will not be eligible for Elixir Points.
6. Team Formation
- To encourage and allow more community members to participate in this exciting event, the tournament will be conducted in teams.
- Teams will be curated by considering players’ skill levels to ensure fair and balanced competition as well as availability to attend matches.
- A team captain will be appointed per team to help coordinate communication and logistics.
- Each team can have a maximum of 10 members.
- All participants must submit individual registration applications. If they wish to form a team with friends, they can fill in their friend’s Discord ID in the registration form.
