We recently introduced Spell Chess Puzzles with Daily and Bonus Puzzles, bringing a magical twist to chess. But what’s chess without a competitive spirit? Now, we’re elevating the game with the introduction of the Season 1 leaderboard. Prepare to engage your strategy and magic in an exciting new challenge, competing for <REDACTED> rewards!
Leaderboard Mechanics
Release date: March 11th, 2024.
Participation: Automatically included when playing the Mini Game.
Scoring: Earn 100 points for each puzzle completion.
Ranking: Based on total points. In the event of ties, rankings are duplicated.
Eligibility: Only puzzles completed within 24 hours from their release time (until 18:00 ET/23:00 GMT/07:00 HKT) contribute to the leaderboard score.
Frequency: The leaderboard is updated once every 24 hours, at 19:00 ET/00:00 GMT/08:00 HKT.
Training Ground: While great for practice, these puzzles won’t contribute to your leaderboard score.
Fair Play Only: The Anichess team reserves the right to exclude accounts from the leaderboard that compromise competition integrity by botting or other exploitative behaviors.
Boosts and Yields
Loyalty Boost: A 10% increase on yesterday’s base points for players who maintain a loyalty streak.
Loyalty Streak Criteria: A streak is counted by solving at least one puzzle each day. Missing a day resets the streak. It takes 21 days to form a habit, so the boost is capped at 21 days, meaning the boost on base points on day 22 is the same as on day 21.
If you miss a day and lose your streak, don’t worry — your dedication counts. The Anichess team will review your overall performance at season’s end for a reward that reflects your effort.
Daily Yields for Orbs of Power Sets:
- 1 set ➝ 100 point
- 2 sets ➝ 150 points
- 3 sets ➝ 250 points
- 4 sets ➝ 400 points
- 5 sets ➝ 600 points
A full set of Anichess Orbs of Power mirrors the composition of a traditional chess set, consisting of 8 Pawns of Water, 2 Knights of Fire, 2 Bishops of Storm, 2 Rooks of Earth, 1 Queen of Time, and 1 King of Aether.
The loyalty boost does not apply to daily yields from Orb sets. Full sets locked in the Power Ring do not generate daily yields.
Early Supporter Extra: Players who maintained a loyalty streak on the day of the leaderboard launch will continue to benefit from their existing streak. For example, being on a 10-day streak boosts base points to 236 on the leaderboard launch date.
Rewards
Season-End Rewards: Players will receive <REDACTED> based on leaderboard position.
Ongoing Surprises: Keep an eye on Anichess X and Discord for surprise announcements regarding additional leaderboard prizes.
Gambit
The Gambit plays a significant role in the leaderboard challenge — activated Bonus Ring grants access to the Bonus Puzzle. Power Ring increases the chances of gaining the rarest Orbs for the full set bonuses.
Bonus Ring: Unlocks the Bonus Puzzle
Requires three Orbs of Power — the Pawn of Water, the Knight of Fire, and the Bishop of Storm. This immediate activation allows access to the day’s Bonus Puzzle. Remember, you still need to complete all three Daily Puzzles to access the Bonus Puzzle.
Power Ring: Increases chances of King & Queen
Requires 6 Orbs of Power — the Pawn of Water, the Knight of Fire, the Bishop of Storm, the Rook of Earth, the Queen of Time and the King of Aether. Once the magic is successfully locked, the chances of claiming the Queen of Time or King of Aether from Chesshapon increase. Players who had the Power Ring activated from Jan 19 to March 1 will receive a surprise reward in due time.
Sample Case of Points Calculation
Day 1: Puzzle Mate solved 3 puzzles. Calculation: 100*3=300. Cumulative Total: 300 points.
Day 2: Solved 2 puzzles and with a 10% loyalty boost. Calculation: (100*2)×1.1=220. Cumulative Total: 300+220=520 points.
Day 3: Solved 4 puzzles with a 10% boost on the previous day’s points. Calculation: (100*4)×1.1²=484. Cumulative Total: 520+484=1004 points.
Day 4: Solved 4 puzzles with a 10% boost on the previous day’s points, has 1 full set of Orbs for 100 points yield. Calculation: (100*4)×1.1³+100 =632.4 Cumulative Total: 1004+632.4=1636.4 points. (Rounded up to 1637)
Day 5: Skipped the day, loses the streak. Gets a daily yield of 100 points. Cumulative Total: 1637+100=1737 points.
Day 6: Solved 3 puzzles and received a daily yield of 100 points. Calculation: (100*3)+100=400. Cumulative Total: 1737+400=2137 points.
Day 7: Solved 4 puzzles with a 10% boost on the previous day’s points, and received a daily yield of 100 points. Calculation: (100*4)×1.1+100=540. Cumulative Total: 2137+540= 2677 points.
