Dead men walking

The earth is littered
with empty nothings
Vacant shells
with human faces
roaming
I roam alongside
Forever seeking
of what I do not know

In this big ugly city
You appear
Like an oasis
in a god forsaken wasteland
A streak of colour
on black and white
Could this be?

I laugh for my fortune
The skies laugh back
mockingly
For
to this oasis
I am only but
a part of this wasteland
containing nothing.
