Interesting perspective, Anna. I partially disagree. You can’t improve if you don’t measure. The number of recommends, followers may give you a hint as to what your readers want to read. In my case, I write for my readers so their responses, likes, recommends are very important to me and shaping the direction of my writing.
My writing is in line with my passion of course — I wouldn’t start something without being passionate about it but its the readers who shape my writing course.
I say it often — if I was writing for myself without caring what my audience wants, I’d just write in my journal.
