I see no problem with gender equality as long as job quality is not sacrificed. And that assertion should run for both genders.
And asking a woman to address abuse in countries where woman are not accepted in any leadership position will definitely be a challenge. Men in those countries will usually see this as an insult to their status.
Even in first world countries this is debatable. Compare what Merkel did with refugees and the criticism and hate she received worldwide. Failed projects like that is unforgivable if a woman is involved. Just a minor political incident if a man was the decision maker.
Woman and LBGT people are seen as emotionally guided decision makers. Men are seen as logic driven decision makers.
Of course we all know this is a false premise. :)
