The Baltimore Museum of Art Will Present Tomas Saraceno Installations

An accomplished executive, Anthony W. Deering holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and honorary LHD from Johns Hopkins University. The Chairman of Exeter Capital, LLC, Anthony W. Deering shares his extensive knowledge of business as the Chairman of the Board of the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA).
Maintaining a renowned, permanent collection of more than 90,000 objects, the BMA routinely welcomes temporary exhibits throughout the year. One of the institution’s upcoming exhibits is the Tomas Saraceno installation, which will consist of clusters of spheres suspended above the BMA’s East Lobby by black ropes.
Curated by Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, Kristen Hileman, the installation will be accompanied by structures in the institution’s European Art galleries. Together, these installations will portray the beauty and flexibility of the natural world, from which Mr. Saraceno frequently draws his inspiration. This inspiration will be seen in the iridescent-paneled spheres that create the appearance of “cloud cities” and black ropes that create the appearance of a spiderweb.
The BMA will welcome the East Lobby installation between October 1, 2017, and July 22, 2018. Meanwhile, the European Art gallery installations will be available for viewing from September 24, 2017, to April 29, 2018.
