Nobody Knows Anything

Don’t get offended, wait actually get offended.

I read around 80% of the posts that show up on my medium home screen and I actually get excited when someone speaks my thoughts that someone today was ARINZÉ.

The post which can be found here is something to be digested in its entirety with some serious thought.. but I just want to speak about the first paragraph…

“Hold up! Before you begin to make any assumptions, let me set the records straight. I am no motivational guru, or someone who has it all figured out, or even someone who’s at mastery level at any skill (yet). I am just like you, trying to make sense of life by continuous questioning of popular structures through deep self-reflection.”

Nobody really knows how anything works on this earth we walk on…

Only through deep self reflection, past experience and observation of the so called “successful” can we claim to know anything. There’s no right way to do anything, there’s only ways that have worked then repeated and new ways to be thought up planned and then tried.

You ever grow up thinking your parents knew everything then one day finally realise they didn’t know nothing or there’s so much more going on? (If you haven’t don’t worry sweet child)

I’m thankful for things like science because it constantly reminds me how complex this life is and maybe I’m not meant to know everything.

I’m also thankful for things like philosophy because that’s another tool to use for deep self analysis… Going a little deeper who I am keeps changing every once in a while so can I really know my self?

WHAT IS THE SELF ANYWAY?

You could just say “the self is me”. But who are you? You are not just one thing.

Possibly the self is a constant change to how you understand things and how you overcome and contribute to situations? Again I don’t know, there’s a freedom that comes with openly admitting you don’t know. It allows you to explore, learn new things and look at the world through different eyes when the time calls for it.

To finish.

Motivational gurus don’t know everything they just have experience and understanding of certain patterns and ways of thinking. There’s nothing to figure out accept your experience of life, all good advice and things that have worked for them won’t work for everyone else don’t let this discourage you when it comes to finding out what works for you.

Still not finished, last paragraph…

Relating to the paragraph I quoted earlier. Just think for a moment the people that assume you think you know everything just because you’re sharing ideas, advice or life experience are either threatened or feel they themselves know it all already. Forget about them they’ll soon learn to change their ways or be forever ignorant… which is okay because we need both types of people in this world.
