Ryan Sieg v. Ryan Reed, The Fued NASCAR Truly Needs

Saturday’s absolute snoozer of half an Xfinity race at Pocono did lead to one interesting moment as two Ryan’s squared off for a less than feather weight fight in the garage area at the famed triangle.

A little bit of a shoving match between Sieg and Reed, maybe some tires involved. Unfortunately there is no video of the scuffle. Sieg did say his crew of 6 guys was vastly out numbered by the Roush Fenway team. So the fight ended as soon as the crews got involved.

Sieg isn’t wrong for telling Reed he’s an “idiot and “brain dead.” Ryan Reed isn’t much of a race car driver, he hasn’t posted a Top 10 since his win at Daytona to start 2015. Lilly Diabetes continues to sponsor the #16 so Roush Fenway continues to field the car.

The whole situation started at the beginning of the race when Reed squeezed Sieg into the outside wall. Likely because Reed was oblivious to what was around him. That was enough for Sieg to get mad and confront him in the garage during the rain delay.

While Ryan Reed lacks talent in really competitive equipment. Remember Chris Buescher won the Xfinity title last season in the same equipment. It isn’t the lack of equipment with Reed like it is with Sieg. If Ryan Sieg was in decent equipment he’d likely be a race winner. Reed has run 84 Xfinity races with 3 Top 10’s, meanwhile Sieg has run 82 races with 4 Top 10’s in sub par equipment.

Hopefully this rivalry continues into road course season. A Sieg v. Reed fued every week would help to revitalize a pretty boring Xfinity Series. While JGR runs away with nearly every race at least we can find solace in the Ryan’s battling it out.
