I got my PhD in math. Let me be clear: log(x) does not have a consistent meaning across either theoretical or applied mathematics. It also does not have a consistent meaning across engineering or other sciences. There is not “standard”.

On another note, I’m still unclear what you even claim that log(x) is supposed to be standardized on. You never made it clear in your article. Are you saying that log(x) is supposed to be base 10? Is it base e? I will tell you that when I wrote my thesis, everytime I wrote “log(x)” I mean base e, however, in other cases when working with binary like problems, I always used base 2.
