“El Pueblo Amante De Maria” this quote is known for us Filipino Catholics in tagalog “Bayang Sumisinta kay Maria” the Philippines is also known as Catholic Country, a country who gives importance to their faith but also as well totheir strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus our Lord.

When the Spaniards came in the Philippines on March 1521, one of their goals is to spread the Christianity here. to spread the Gospel and about Christianity they taught our ancestors about faith and the doctrines of the Church one of them is the devotion to the Saints of the Church especially to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Spaniards are many contributions to our faith, they did not teach us only how to become a good Christian but they taught as well the importance of the Blessed Virgin Mary and its role in the salvation history, during the reign of the spaniards in the Philippines many churches were built and entitled most to the saints and to the different titles of the Virgin Mary, they brought different sculptures and images portraying the Saints and the Virgin Mary as well.

And because of the strong devotion of the Filipinos to the Blessed Mother, there are a tradition in the Intramuros, Intramuros is a historical place, a place where historical universities and Church are established there. and now year 2016, on December 04, 2016 there will be the “Intramuros Grand Marian Procession” a procession dedicated to the Blessed Mother Each year, where different statues and images of the Blessed Mother from different titles and venerated here in the Philippines are included to each year procession.

and me as a devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary, i am so happy to see my fellow brothers and sisters are alive on their faith to God and devotion the Mother of God. and in this way i would like also to join the procession to offer my prayers to the Virgin Mary, Hahhaha but first i want to ask permission to my parents if i can go their.
