My Two Cents on Instagram Stories and the Evolution of Social Platform
Gary Vaynerchuk

With all due respect, I disagree with a couple of things you’ve said, though you are probably right that Stories will be very successful for Instagram. I have been using Instagram for five years and I have never used Snapchat, so here is my two cents worth… So far the Stories I have seen are a lot of amateurish junk, not fun, just junk, and I’m no professional photographer and don’t pretend to be. But fun or not, there is a huge difference in shooting video content that is interesting and shooting stills, and most people don’t seem to understand that. Also, it was not at all intuitive for someone who had never used Snapchat, and it sounds like you have used Snapchat, so you probably can’t be objective on that one. Like most social media, I think the Instagram experience depends on who you follow and what you want your experience to be. It can be fun and also creatively challenging, depending on how you approach it, and it seemed fine to me the way it was (Luddite attitude, I know). Glad you are writing about this, it motivates us to evaluate things and have a discussion.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
