The Tech Industry’s Psychological War on Kids

thank you for this article. 3 years ago i was hired to do the UI on a game that got kids to watch ads to earn points to ‘chat’ with youtubers. It was modelled on existing apps that use all of what we know is addicting tactics. It was my breaking point in tech. I decided that I would rather start a new career than work on that kind of evil shit. So i started grad school to become a shrink and then decided that i had to improve existing CBT apps using that same addiction loop. Now we make www.motispark.com — i refuse to make a version for kids. Kids need our protection. Even ‘benevolent’ games are like blowing tar into their brains.
