When l look at modern china. I imagine of that old man, Deng Xiaoping. In his courtyard, he is leaping forward slowly wrapping his hands behind his backs. Millions of thoughts are running in his head. He recollects his past days at France when he was a kid. He remembers the day when he didn’t go back to his home when his father died. He remembers the long march in cold, brutal weather that almost took his life away. He remembers the days when he was sent to south china to contain Tibet where he annexed Tibet into China using brute force. He remembers his conflict with Mao. He remembers great leap forward campaign that caused death of millions of people due to starvation. He remembers why he was exiled and why he was brought back to power. He then slowly stops, stares out in the sky with a very determined face and says to himself, the fate of 1 billion Chinese is in my hand. It is my decision to make or break this country.

He then takes sharp right angle in the courtyard. Now thought of Jiang Zemin enters in his head. He thinks Jiang Zemin and his politburo are not interested in making people’s life better. They are more interested in their power. He becomes little anxious. He takes faster steps and says, I need to take this matter in hand and go to public myself. I need to go Shanghai and directly talk to people. Now he wants to rally up people. He wants to make them belief that if they work hard, they can be prosperous. Then he mutters: I am architecting social economy with Chinese character and it is not capitalism.

Now he is tired. He decides to go back to his home and play with his grandkids and eat pork gravy.
