The cave in which Ravana’s body is kept is situated at an altitude of 8 thousand feet in the forests of Ragla. Here Ravana’s body has been mummified and kept in a coffin. A special type of coating has been applied on it, due to which it looks the same for thousands of years. The research has been done by the International Ramayana Research Center of Sri Lanka. According to this riser, Ravana’s body has been kept in a coffin 18 feet long and 5 feet wide. It is also said that there is a priceless treasure of Ravana under this coffin. This treasure is guarded by a fierce snake and many ferocious animals. It is believed that when Lord Shri Ram killed Ravana, he handed over his body to Vibhishana for the last rites. But Vibhishana, in his hurry to assume the throne, did not perform the last rites of Ravana and left the body as it was. It is said that after this, the people of Nagkul took Ravana’s body with them, because they believed that Ravana’s death would be momentary. Yes, he will be alive again. But this did not happen. After this he mummified Ravana’s body, so that it remained safe for years. It has also been claimed in the research where Ravana’s Ashok Vatika was and where his Pushpak Vimana used to land. Apart from this, it has also been claimed to find footprints of Lord Hanuman. But the authenticity of all these things has not been proven yet.
