A generation of “Adults” lacking Maturity and Ethics

Growing into Womanhood and Manhood is difficult for many young girls and boys. Today having a developed body, putting on the attire of a Man/Woman and mimicking the Adult roles has been a way for young people to cheat their way into Adulthood. they do not know basic moral and ethical principals like having manners, talking to people the right way, emotional intelligence, good money management, self control, being respectful and taking care of responsibilities. Kids are not thought what they need to learn in order to grow into respectable and responsible Adults. Parents are half-assing parenting because they probably never had a parent to teach them those skills and did not want to learn on their own or just because they do not care.

Kids take the easy way into Adulthood by having the resemblance of a grown up but fail to have the work ethic that comes with Adulthood.

ILLUSIONS OF ADULTHOOD

January 29, 2012

I have passed the age of 18. I drive a car. I have a full-time job. I pay bills. I am an adult.

I think.

What nobody seems to tell you about the years after high school and college is that you never really feel like you are an adult. Most of the time, I still feel like I’m “faking” it and I’m going to be found out at any moment. It’s as if someone is out there watching my every move and is going to take away my adult card because I’m just not doing it right. What “it” is, I don’t think I’ll ever know.

Sure, I go through the motions of a typical office job, rent an apartment of my own, and can get into clubs without a fake i.d. but I still don’t feel like a grown-up.

This story shows and tells how Adulthood is being falsely displayed.
