Whether it be anything we all always start it with great enthusiasm and dedication. However, this positive attitude doesn’t last long and most of us find ourselves struggling to stay motivated and maintain consistency in our studies.

Even many hardworking and motivated people sometimes face a similar situation when they are unmotivated to do their studies or other tasks. But… Is it challenging for students to stay motivated when studying?

Never! all they need is to follow the right roadmap and guidance to get all motivation.

There exist various signs that indicate the lack of motivation during preparation such as — reduced interest in studies, delaying the tasks, trouble in making focus & concentration, and many more.

Staying motivated during preparation can be challenging, but it is also imperative to your success. If you find that you have trouble motivating yourself, apply these tips to help you stay driven as you approach a placement.

Always Keep in Mind Your Reason

You are required to think and write down all the reasons for which you are studying. You can ask several questions to yourself and always start questions with WHY, WHAT, WHERE, HOW because they give you the real answer that you have in your mind. Let me give you an example — Why did you started your preparation? or What will you achieve after completion of placement? etc. And whenever you find yourself in an inconsistent situation, take a look at these reasons to remember all your goals behind your preparation that will eventually motivate you to continue your preparation with more hard work and dedication.

Surround Yourself with Other Motivated Individuals

Find friends that are determined and academically motivated to succeed. By surrounding yourself with these types of individuals, you won’t be tempted to avoid your preparation on that night that requires your academics attention. If you surround yourself with friends that are constantly avoiding their works to go out town, you need to exert self-control to decline their invite, though it might be enticing. Academically motivated peers will encourage you to finish your work first before anything else, so choose your friend wisely.

Set Realistic Study Goals

It is one of the major problems with the students which they often commit during their studies. Indeed, students usually create such complex timetables for themselves, try to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously, and focus on several unrealistic goals that eventually lead the students to feel unmotivated.

Although there is nothing bad in stretching yourself, however, you also must take into account several crucial aspects before planning your preparation goals. The students are recommended to set short-term goals, break down their tasks into smaller ones, making a simple & worthwhile study schedule, etc. to get better and effective results.

Don’t Compare Yourself with Others

There’s no comparison between the sun and the moon. They shine when it’s their time. Comparing your life with others is always a losing proportion because there will always be people who “appear” to be better off than you and seemingly live the perfect life. After all, we always compare the worst of what we know about ourselves to the best assumptions that we make about others. Be advised, When we consistently compare ourselves to others, we waste precious energy focusing on other peoples’ lives rather than our own. There is an old saying- DON’T COMPARE YOUR LIFE TO OTHERS. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEIR JOURNEY IS ALL ABOUT.

Set up a Positive Study Environment

A positive and calm study environment is always necessary for a student to stay motivated during studying. You are required to eliminate all the distractions from your study place to stay motivated and focused on your studies. Meanwhile, you are recommended to have a designated place for your studies with all the study-related stuff such as books, notes, etc. organized properly and try to remove everything unrelated to your study tasks from the particular space. And a positive study environment doesn’t only tend to be a well-organized study place but only with the appropriate management of other resources such as laptops, mobile phones, etc.

Set Aside Some Time for Yourself

Even with staying focused on your studies, it’s important to set aside time for yourself. If you refuse to set aside time for yourself, you will undoubtedly struggle to stay motivated during preparation. So make time to remove yourself from your studies and exercise at the gym, go to a concert or socialize with your friends. When you have something interesting to look forward to your studies, you get more motivated while studying. These types of activities aren’t bad in fact, they are necessary for your well-being. However, remember to prioritize responsibility.

Stay Healthy and Fit

Last but not least, you’re required to do exercise regularly to keep your mind and body healthy which further helps you to stay motivated and study effectively. As per the reports, exercises such as swimming, running, etc. boost your thinking and concentration abilities more effectively.

Furthermore, you are recommended to schedule these activities during the break between your study routine as it will help you to stay energized when you get back to your studies.

Lastly,

The starting point of all the achievements is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. “Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat”.
