Setting Up Server Side Rendering with React, Redux, and Django

Good post — it got me on my way in my dangerous journey into the unknown for fun.

The funknown if you will.

Anyway, where I’ve gotten to so far, I found that the express server is entirely unnecessary. I compile my javascript as both a bundle for web targets, which will be served in the HTML, and a renderer for node targets, which is simple called by the Django server.

If you’d like to check out my work, have a look at https://github.com/Asday/server-side-rendering-exploration. There’s still some work to do at the time of writing this, as explained in goals.md, but as far as I can see, I don’t think I’ll need to involve a second server.
