What I Learnt Going To My 5 Year High School Reunion

Before the 5 year High School reunion began, I did not know what to expect and how many people would actually show up to the reunion. When I walked into the venue where the high school reunion was at, I was surprised to discover and learnt many thing while I was catching up with everyone at the reunion.

Life Is Too Short

5 years can seem a very long time but the time can go so fast and a lot can happen during that time period. Some of the people I met at the reunion were doing and achieving great things with their life. Some were still trying to find out what they want to do in life. One person was still living in the past and dwelling on the days of High School, and one person almost lost their life in a motor vehicle accident. I am thankful that I get the chance to catch up with that person again who was in a serious motor vehicle accident without experiencing the feeling of never getting the chance to say my goodbyes. Life is too short and the future is uncertain as to what experiences and challenges you will face in your lifetime and no one should ever be stuck in the past because thinking about the past is just a time waster. Take advantage of your life to the fullest and fulfil your life goals and aspirations before your time is up.

Don’t Make Dumb Decisions

One of the people did not come to the High School reunion because they are currently in jail serving a 2 year sentence. It really breaks my heart and I am very disappointed that this situation has happened to this individual and that I did not get the chance to catch up with him after 5 years being out of high school. The main take away from this is to always make the right decision that will not get you in trouble with the law because your time on this planet is so precious. Please don’t waste it by doing dumb things.

You Can Change Your Life For The Better

There was one person that was used to be in my ancient history class back in high school that completely made a difference to his health by losing a lot of weight and maintaining a healthy diet and exercise. I was so impressed when I catched up with him and it goes to show that if you want to achieve something in your life, go after it. You will definitely thank yourself later on in life. Getting started is the hardest part, but the benefits of continuing to keep trying will eventually have positive benefits towards your life.

Some People Don’t Change

When I came across and catched up with a particular individual at my high school reunion, I noticed they were still the same person back in high school. That’s ok because some people in life are still trying to discover themselves and find their life purpose. Hopefully the day will come soon when that individual realised what that is.

Life Is Not Perfect

Most of the people that I have catched up with at the high school reunion have made mistakes and faced many challenges in their life and that’s ok because that’s what’s makes us all human in this world and it helps us grow and gain our understanding of who we are and what our life purpose is. Whenever you feel bad about making a mistake or experiencing a challenge in your life, always remember life is not perfect and that moment in time will pass.
