Home remedies for Endometriosis

The term Endometriosis is used for defining a gynecological condition where the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus — called endometrium, starts growing on the outer uterine cavity. Rather than medical and surgical treatments, home remedies for Endometriosis provide a safer alternative.

Castor Oil

A standard and old home remedy for Endometriosis is to drink a couple of spoons every morning on an empty stomach. Doing so helps in cleansing out the tissues from the uterus and other areas. You can also massage warm castor oil on the lower abdomen. This softens the tissues and helps them to come out during your menstrual cycle.

Massages

You can choose any oil of your choice like olive or coconut oil. Then heat it up lightly and give yourself a good pelvic massage. Doing so helps in stimulating the tissues from different areas of the body. This should be done for at least 10–15 minutes everyday.

Turmeric, Ginger and Honey Concoction

For this home remedy, you have to boil a spoon of grated ginger and turmeric in a cup of water. When boiled and the ginger juice is infused inside you should add a spoon of honey to the same. Drink this while warm at least once a day to get relief from the symptoms of Endometriosis.

Hot and Cold Compress/ Bath

Hot and cold compress or baths are another effective home remedy for Endometriosis. Basically you have to fill two tubs — one with hot and one with cold water and sit in the same alternatively, ensuring that the pelvic is covered in the water. Alternatively, hot and cold compress works very well here too. Just take an ice pack and some hot water in a bucket. Alternatively do the hot and cold compress to alleviate the symptoms of Endometriosis along with softening the tissues for natural excretion.

Flaxseeds

Consuming 2 spoons of flaxseeds on an empty stomach is known to provide relief from the symptoms of endometriosis. These are known for flushing out harmful toxins, tissues and other waste elements from the body. Ideally, you should chew on the flaxseeds, but if that is not something you are comfortable with, simply soak a handful of these seeds overnight. The next morning, get up and drink this water. Not only is this an effective home remedy for getting the tissues related to endometriosis out of the system, it also helps in detoxifying and regulating your menstrual cycle.

Chamomile Tea

The many benefits of the chamomile flower for treating the symptoms associated with endometriosis are known since ancient times. You can try getting the essential oils of the flower and do a massage using the same. A few drops of this oil can be added to your milk and consumed everyday. Another quick and effectual remedy here would be consuming chamomile tea on a daily basis. This helps in eliminating the tissues from outer parts of the uterine area. You can have the tea at night too as chamomile helps to relax and get better sleep.

Lifestyle Changes

Apart from the remedies suggest above, try to do yoga postures like child pose, dog pose, downward dog, bow pose, etc. that help to strengthen your core and excrete these tissues. You should also eat more of fibrous foods that help in flushing out toxins along with tissues from the uterine cavity.
