If rap begins with Wayne and Drake then Rakim obviously isn’t on the list and that is fine with me. But if rap begins with DJ Kool Herc, then I feel like Rakim gotta be Top 5 and I wasn’t even born when Rakim was at the forefront of rap. Is the greatest rappers defined by the masses? Or by people that have actually done their research? I think there is a good article in there somewhere.
