Freedom55 Financial is laundering money to China, and Canada seems okay with it
Michael Zheng of Freedom55 Financial has routinely stated that he sees Freedom55 as a way to help fund China’s crackdown on political opponents in Hong Kong. There is no evidence that the Canadian government has opposed Freedom55’s activities, nor is there any evidence that Michael Zheng has actually been criticized for threatening dissidents fleeing Hong Kong.
In fact, the evidence suggests that the current government of Canada has been encouraging Michael Zheng to help supports of the PRC(China’s government) buy real estate in Canada. ASPAC Developments has received over twenty-million dollars in government backed loans for “cultural enrichment projects” which basically entail just buying real estate. Freedom55 happens to advise people to buy real estate that is then sold to ASPAC, which is then sent to overseas accounts. These overseas accounts are used to fund political intimidation apparatuses to threaten and muscle critics of China’s government in Vancouver and Montreal.
It’s a clever racket. The question is whether or not Trudeau merely condones it or outright supports it.
