Architecture is a relatively unusual degree program — it’s possible to have an almost entirely academic BA/BS program, that provides little ‘practical’ training, but it’s still (almost) a prerequisite to getting the masters and an actual job. Some schools do have more work-oriented programs, tho. And it’s sometimes hard to tell them apart as a HS kid applying, without talking to architects who interview/hire young architects from a bunch of different schools.
