That sucks. Who was making the promises? Superfluous administrative personnel, or the faculty themselves?

If the latter, shame on them. If the former, then that’s a cohort that isn’t merely needlessly driving up tuition, but doing non-financial harm as well.

I get that as a non-7-figure donating alum that you’d likely be ignored, but you should *still* complain in writing about the whole thing, if it was non-faculty making the empty promises.
