Hey Atari Token Community! We’re excited to finally announce some of the many things we’ve been working on behind the scenes!

Today we announce the next era of NFTs with Enjin!

Since gamers are already familiar with managing digital assets, NFTs have been regarded as the prime use case for blockchain implementation within the interactive entertainment industry. It’s a natural fit for the new technology, providing virtual assets with further verifiability, in-game scarcity, and transferability. Additionally, NFTs give users true ownership of their items, meaning they can be sure of their authenticity and trade them on other platforms.

To date, NFTs have taken the form of collectibles, mostly of static use. They have yet to possess the dynamic and useful nature many had hoped would come to dominate the gaming world. In collaboration with Enjin and their adopters, Atari Chain is ushering in the era for NFT implementation and decentralized gaming. Users will have access to a whole new world of digital ownership, allowing them to not only collect rare one-of-a-kind items but to use them as well. No longer just eye candy, digital assets will have real-world applications for users to experience and enjoy.

“We are very excited about this collaboration with Atari and its initiation with our latest Enjin Adopter, eBallR Games. Atari resonates with all ages as the household name synonymous with gaming and its belief in blockchain shows the maturity of this technology and the tools now available,” said Alex Russman, Director of Business Development at Enjin. “The eBallR Games team shares this belief and having such a line up of industry veterans combine their video gaming knowledge with Enjin’s tech stack and blockchain expertise is going to advance the boundaries of true ownership and virtual identity in meaningful and magical ways.”

“Atari is proud to partner with Enjin and eBallR to bring a new interactive experience to life. Being able to combine NFTs with an interactive experience is a lot of fun, and our common goal is to continue innovating in the space”, said Fred Chesnais, Atari CEO. “This collaboration will mark the first phase of our plans with Enjin to leverage our expertise along with Atari’s library of games with proven track records of success with the blockchain to empower developers all around the world.”

“A lot of the eBallR team grew up playing the original Atari console and titles, and now having a chance to work with such a household name in video games is a dream come true,” said Martyn Hughes, CEO of eBallR Games. “Enjin has created some awesome technology that has allowed us to incorporate Atari collectibles into our games that players can really own, collect and trade in the digital sphere, which is truly cutting edge. We’re excited to be part of something that is sure to be a true game-changer (pun intended) in the industry!”

Enjin’s suite of integrated products makes it accessible for anyone to produce, manage, and own virtual goods on the blockchain. Once existing as assets on this decentralized and public database, virtual goods have proven scarcity, authenticity, provenance, and ownership. In addition, blockchain’s composability and interoperability enable these goods to move across platforms, marketplaces, and virtual spaces. The flagship product of the Enjin ecosystem is the Enjin Wallet, your digital backpack, and gateway into the new age of decentralized virtual worlds.

The Enjin Platform already works with various game engines and platforms like Unity, Godot, Java, GraphQL, and will soon be available in Unreal and Amazon Lumberyard.
