The Augur team has made the decision to migrate our community discussions from Slack to Discord. After heavily considering our options for many weeks, we believe this is the best choice for our community moving forward.

Outside of the spam and scam attacks within Slack, it’s become clear that Slack is not designed for large open source community groups, and we’ve kept running into miscellaneous problems released to that. From having to use third party plugins to ensure security, not being able to disable DMs, and now our invite limit is permanently capped out from having an open inviter.

Discord has many of the same features of Slack, however they allow you to disable DMs from strangers and give us better community moderation tools. Security features such as link checking and validation is built in. Discord will allow us to grow our online community without any restrictions with our upcoming launch.

Please join us! Invites are issued through: augur.net/invite.

We look forward to chatting with you. Our Slack will be sunsetted over the coming weeks.

Cheers,

The Augur Team
