About summer
Streets lit up with sun, lazy noons and light dresses..summer comes like a gift after long winter and uncertain spring…I used to make big plans in summer, plans about what I want to change in my life, which direction I want to go. The reason might also be my birthday falling in the end of august. On birthday I inevitably think about life…so why not think about it in advance during sweet summer days?
I like summer not only because of that..First, it links me with my childhood when my sister and I used to spend all three hot months with our grandparents in the village. Careless and so happy! I like it because you can spend so much time outdoors (another question is that you hardly find enough time for that), go for a walk or ride a bike.
Days in ever-lasting-summer country like Indonesia or Malaysia may sound like a paradise but I do not know how people there live through the sunlight and rains, rains and sunlight. Still, I wouldn’t prefer dreadful coldness of Siberia to the permanent summer. In Ukraine, where I live, four seasons are more or less distinct and life flow is measured through the freeze of January to the hollow of summer.
Now, half of summer is over…I finally completed that IDELTS online course, thinking of the future week in Odessa, recovering my Chinese and recovering my physical shape, hopefully finding time for riding a bike, cooking healthy food, going out with friends…oh summer, you are so short! Give me two, please!
